JLG Telehandler Training British Columbia - Following retirement in the late 1960's, John L. Grove started out on a cross country RV trip. After spending numerous years establishing his family built crane company with his brother, John had no idea that this trip would give birth to the rise of JLG Industries, Inc. The world leader of mobile aerial work platforms and precision material handling technologies was the end consequence of a road trip.

All through their journey, John reacquainted himself with former business acquaintances along the way. In combination with these conversations and a significant event; two workers were unfortunately electrocuted on scaffolding when the Groves were passing through the Hoover Dam. John uncovered a considerable market for a product that could swiftly and securely lift people in the air to accomplish maintenance and other construction services.

Upon returning from their travels, John established a partnership with two friends and obtained a metal fabrication business in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. In 1970, starting operations with a crew of twenty employees, they designed and sold the first JLG aerial work platform. The business incorporates some of the simple design essentials of that original lift into current versions.

Since then, JLG Forklifts have come a great distance from when Mr. John L. Grove returned from his fatefull cross-country trip and since the first JLG aerial platform entered the marketplace.
