Vancouver

Vancouver city is a major seaport and coastal city situated in southwestern BC, and is part of the Lower Mainland. The word Vancouver was taken from the sea captain, who was a British explorer, Captain George Vancouver.

The Full Circle: First Nations Performance Talking Stick Festival provides theatre, music, performance, dance, and visual arts of the local, national, and global Aboriginal artists. Vancouver Folk Music Festival brings grassroots artists to Jericho Beach.

The Canadian Football League's BC LIons has their home here within Vancouver, playing their home games at BC Place Stadium. Every season, there are 9 Canadian teams which begin competing from June to November to battle for the Grey Cup. Canadian football is likewise played with three downs on a wider and longer field compared to American football. Vancouver Canucks are Vancouver's favorite hockey team. Their home games are played at the GM Place. The Vancouver Canadian Professional Baseball Club play at the Nat Bailey Stadium.
