Port Coquitlam

Port Coquitlam is a city located in British Columbia, Canada. It is located at the confluence of the Fraser River and the Pitt River and is situated twenty seven km east of Vancouver. Coquitlam borders it on the north and the Coquitlam River borders the city on the west and the cities of Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge are located across the Pitt River. Port Coquitlam is called "PoCo" by the locals. Based on population, it is actually the 88th largest city in Canada.

The city of Port Coquitlam is nearly bisected wholly by a Canadian Pacific Railway yard with one overpass and two underpass crossings. Mostly due to its suburban nature, Port Coquitlam city greatly depends on its vehicular roadways so as to transport both people and goods. Two of the main arterial roads are the Shaughnessy Street and Lougheed Highway. These main roads bisect Port Coquitlam to the north and south and to the east and west, respectively.

Translink supplies the city with numerous buses and bus routes. The 159 bus route, that connects the the southern part of Port Coquitlam to SkyTrain, is the most used bus route in the Greater Vancouver Regional District. Other bus routes in the city consist of the 160 and the C38. The C38 is the route which connects Northern Port Coquitlam to Coquitlam Central Station via Port Coquitlam Station.

The 160 connects Port Coquitlam to Vancouver and it passes via Coquitlam Central Station along with Port Moody Station. Two of the main bus stops within the city comprise the Port Coquitlam Station and the Port Coquitlam Centre. There are various other Community Shuttles in place in order to serve the greater Port Coquitlam area.
