West Point Grey

Located on the western side of Vancouver, BC is the neighborhood of West Point Grey. Bordering the neighborhood are Alma Street to the east, 16th Avenue to the south, English Bay to the north and Blanca Street to the west. The commercial heart and soul of the West Point Grey district is Point Grey Village.

The village of Point Grey is considered perhaps the most exclusive district within Canada or at least within Western Canada. The price of the houses in this particular area average $2 million dollars. It is the most expensive area in Vancouver when it comes to price per square foot. The district is home to an ecologically diverse and appreciative populace. There are many faculty members of UBC, working professionals, the University of British Columbia, young families, artists and different patrons of the city and established leaders who live there.

The main commercial area within the district where the restaurants and shops are located is along West 10th Avenue between Discovery Street and Tolmie Street. Each and every year, Fiesta Day takes place along Trimble Park and 10th Avenue every year. This carnival day intended for the family comprises rides, performances, games and a parade.

The area slopes steeply downhill north of West 4th avenue. Here, English Bay meets at the Spanish Banks and at Locarno Beach.

The center of operations for all the Canadian Forces Army Primary Reserve units within BC, the 39 Canadian Brigade Group has their center of operations within the northeastern region of West Point Grey Village.

The Village Of Point Grey stretches along West 10th Avenue from Discovery to Tolmie. It is the area where people enjoy visiting with neighbors over a cup of coffee, having a bite to eat, shopping and catching up on local business. The village of Point Grey is a fun, friendly, vibrant and safe community. There are many local merchants and magnificent things to discover.
